Public Works
The City of Bardstown's Public Works Department coordinates and
evaluates the construction, operation, maintenance and cleanliness
of the Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, Garbage, Street,
and Cemetery Divisions.
The Garbage Crew runs on scheduled and established routes to pick-up
garbage, trash, yard waste/leaf, from residences and businesses.
They also deliver dumpsters to new customers and run scheduled special

The Street Crew maintains all streets, alley, sidewalks and erect/repair
street signs. The crew also
insures cleanliness of streets and roads, including removal of snow
and ice during inclement weather.
The Cemetery Crew insures cleanliness of the cemeteries, including
mowing grass/weeds, cutting trees and tree limbs, and removing debris.
They are also responsible for the opening and closing of graves.
In addition, the Public Works Department maintains the City's vehicles,
trucks and heavy equipment. The department also investigates and
answers citizen's complaints and requests through the Citizen Complaint
Resolution System.
